With a length of 4.2 kilometers, the Christmas boulevard Kurfürstendamm, gleaming with lights, is unique in Europe. 140,000 LED lights decorate 554 trees. Christmas figures amaze young and old. The Christmas lights on Kurfürstendamm will shine daily from November 22, 2022 to January 6, 2023 from 4 p.m to 10 p.m. Experience the fairy tale of lights on BLVD KU’DAMM and combine your visit with an Advent stroll through the shops on Ku’damm and Tauentzien or stroll through the Christmas market at the Memorial Church. On December 4th and 18th, 2022 there will be two shopping Sundays. The shops then open their doors from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Almond scent and bright lights on Ku’damm and Tauentzien
At the end of November, the Christmas season was heralded in the area around Ku’damm and Tauentzien. “Where there is a fair, there is pure life”, a Greek philosopher once wrote. Therefore, the Christmas market at the Memorial Church has become almost as important for City West as the KaDeWe, the zoo or the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. It gives many people a feeling of security in the run-up to Christmas and brings back childhood memories. The Christmas market is always a popular meeting place for friends and families. It was opened this year by the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey. The 39th Christmas market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is open from November 21, 2022 to January 1, 2023.
The boulevard is dancing! BLVD Ku’damm is excited to join forces once again this year with the organisers from AG City and the Mala Junta dance school, La Mambita (salsa) and Talea & Holger (swing) to put on a large open-air dance festival on Breitscheidplatz. There will be both a stage and a dance floor where a daily changing programme of swing (Fridays and Wednesdays), tango (Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays) and salsa/bachata (Sundays and Tuesdays) dances will take place. You can also enjoy live music and show dances.
We look forward to welcoming you free of charge to the many introductory dance events and getting City West in the mood for dancing!

ALL WE WROTE – 50 YEARS OF GRAFFITI CULTURE OUT OF NOWHERE TO THE WHOLE WORLD – NOW ON KU’DAMM
From 2nd June Kufürstendamm – the place to be – will be featuring one of the longest graffiti exhibitions in the world. The exhibition, in the centre of Berlin and spanning five decades of artists, shows just how much the art form that once originated in New York has now reached the hearts of the world’s largest metropolises. On recreated monuments and metro trains, some of the world’s most relevant graffiti writers are showcasing a cross-section of the multifaceted world and history of graffiti. Berlin is the first stop on a journey through places of pilgrimage for graffiti around the world, from Paris, Amsterdam and São Paulo to, of course, New York City.
ALL WE WROTE brings this 50 year history to Berlin’s Ku’damm through a travelling exhibition and gets to the heart of how divisive the reputation of graffiti is. On the contrary, the original spots for graffiti culture have been recreated. Along with the most famous landmarks of graffiti cities, metro trains and house facades have been installed allowing the graffiti writers’ artworks to shine in their original form.
From the heart of culture, the creators of ALL WE WROTE are part of the graffiti scene and are supported and advised by high-profile names in the urban world: FINO, LOOMIT, AKTE & CREN, Pascal Gerstenlauer, Nikki Mendes, Cara Muru and Marion von Kampen are all involved in the project and are engaging with their networks to ensure the authenticity of the exhibition.
As well as the public art installation, visitors can also shop in the Urban Contemporary Pop-Up STORE Ku’damm 21 where merchandise, art and prints are on sale. In the basement of the STORE, the teaser exhibition ‘Rise Of Digital’ will feature works from 3D and digital artists.
This means that we have come full circle and a new form of art suitable for the digital age will be presented.
You can visit ALL WE WROTE from 2nd June 2022 to 26th June 2022.
In the middle of Ku’damm from Wittenbergplatz to as far as Kranzler Eck.
